Terms of Use

Last updated: August 14, 2026

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Scano mobile application and related services.

By using Scano, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. What Scano does

Scano provides tools that allow users to scan, organize, edit, create, save, and share documents and PDF files from a mobile device.

Features may change, improve, or be removed over time as the app evolves.

3. Your documents

You are responsible for the documents, images, and files you scan, import, create, edit, store, or share using Scano.

You must have the necessary rights or permission to use any content processed through the app.

Scano does not claim ownership of your documents.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Scano in a way that:

  • violates applicable laws or regulations;
  • infringes the rights of another person or entity;
  • distributes unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or malicious content;
  • attempts to interfere with the app, its security, or related services;
  • attempts to reverse engineer or misuse Scano except where such restrictions are prohibited by applicable law.

5. Local files and backups

Scano currently stores document-related information primarily on your device.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of documents that are important to you.

Removing the app, deleting local files, changing devices, or losing access to your device may result in loss of locally stored documents.

6. Advertising

The free version of Scano may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising services, including Google AdMob.

Depending on your location, device settings, consent choices, applicable privacy requirements, and permissions, advertising may be personalized, non-personalized, limited, contextual, or otherwise restricted.

On supported Apple devices, Scano may request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before advertising services use identifiers or tracking that require such permission.

Scano may show an informational message before Apple's tracking permission request explaining that advertising helps support the free version of the app.

You are not required to allow tracking in order to use Scano.

Declining tracking or personalized advertising does not necessarily remove advertisements from the free version of Scano.

Advertising availability, format, frequency, and content may vary based on location, device configuration, privacy choices, advertising service availability, advertiser demand, and other factors.

7. Future paid features

Scano may introduce optional paid features, subscriptions, or premium functionality in the future.

If paid features are introduced, their price, billing period, functionality, and applicable purchase terms will be presented before purchase.

8. Third-party services

Scano may use or interact with third-party services, including operating system services, sharing tools, advertising providers, privacy and consent services, and platform services.

Those third-party services are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, and applicable requirements.

9. Privacy choices and tracking permissions

Scano may present privacy and consent options based on your location, applicable regulations, and advertising configuration.

On Apple devices, you may also be asked whether you want to allow tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.

Your privacy or tracking choice does not prevent you from using Scano's core document scanning and PDF functionality.

You may be able to review or change certain privacy permissions through Scano or through your device settings.

10. App availability

We aim to keep Scano available and functioning reliably, but we do not guarantee that the app will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

Maintenance, device limitations, operating system changes, network conditions, third-party services, advertising services, or technical issues may affect availability.

11. No professional advice

Scano is a document scanning and PDF utility. It does not provide legal, financial, medical, accounting, or other professional advice.

Scanning or storing a document in Scano does not verify the document's authenticity, accuracy, legal validity, or enforceability.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Scano is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We do not guarantee that every scan, crop, perspective correction, PDF conversion, advertisement, third-party service, or other result will be perfect or suitable for every intended purpose.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from the use of, inability to use, or reliance on Scano.

This includes loss of documents, data, business information, or other content, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

14. Changes to Scano

We may modify Scano, add or remove functionality, change its interface, advertising implementation, or release updated versions at any time.

Some updates may be necessary to maintain compatibility, security, privacy, regulatory compliance, or functionality.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when Scano changes or when legal, regulatory, operational, advertising, privacy, or business requirements change.

The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.

16. Privacy

Your use of Scano is also subject to our Privacy Policy .

The Privacy Policy provides additional information regarding advertising, consent, App Tracking Transparency, device identifiers, and privacy choices.
